Jasmin Fejzic
Penalty taker and penalty killer – Jasmin Fejzic likes both.
The number 1 of Eintracht Braunschweig convinces again and again with strong saves and strengthens the back of his team.
We had a short interview with Yasmin Fejzic. He talks about the goalkeeper position, why the team’s confidence is important and about his goalkeeper gloves.
Why did you become a goalkeeper?
I used to be too lazy to run. Then I went into goalkeeping and there I was better than at running.
What do only goalkeepers know and understand?
Well, I think to be a goalkeeper you have to be a bit crazy. Sometimes you throw yourself into balls where the risk of a injury is very high. This is rarely noticed by field players and outsiders. You have to have it in your blood somehow to be in goal, because there are many situations in which you sacrifice yourself for the team. But it’s a great feeling when you save the balls and help the team win.
What is the best thing about being a goalkeeper?
When you catch a ball from an angle when everyone thinks “the ball is in there now” and then somehow you’re still there. That’s a great feeling.
How important is the confidence of your team to you and how can you gain it?
That’s very important. You win, of course, by delivering your performance and making important saves to secure the victory. In soccer, you only win as a team and that’s why every goalkeeper needs the trust of his teammates.
What is important to you about your glove?
A good grip is the most important thing for me, and that’s a given with uhlsport goalkeeper gloves.
