Since 2018, Pavao has been the backup for the Wolves. With over 150 games in the Austrian 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, the 34-year-old radiates calm and experience.
We had a short interview with Pavao Pervan. He talks about the worst goalkeeper situation, what it means to be a goalkeeper and about his goalkeeper gloves.
What is the worst situation that can happen to you as a goalkeeper?
I think the worst situation is when you’re playing an important game, it’s injury time, everyone’s waiting for the final whistle and then you make a terrible mistake and the ball goes into the goal. And a game that everyone thought was already won ends in a draw. That has also happened to me personally.
What does being a goalkeeper mean to you?
For me, it means being able to pursue my passion. The goal is for the team to be able to rely on me at every moment. I want to be the hero. I want to be there for the team at any moment and I want to be the person who wins the game for the team. Moreover, I like to take responsibility and I want to exude reliability and security.
What is most important to you about your glove?
What’s most important to me about my goalkeeper glove is that the grip is good in all weather conditions, that I feel comfortable and that it also stays in good condition for a long time.
